Alpine tour to the glacier from Maiskogel

This tour isn't for the faint of heart – or those with a fear of heights. Here you'll move along at dizzying heights, but that's what makes this hike so beautiful. The panoramic view that awaits is something you aren't soon to forget. Head from the family-friendly Maiskogel mountain up to the Krefelder Hütte alpine hut. Refreshments here are plenty. This tour is particularly suitable for experienced hikers and alpine tourers.

Alexander Enzinger Trail description

Maiskogelbahn mountain station – head towards the Glocknerblick alpine hut (refreshments) – head southwest over the Drei-Wallner-Höhe – Schoppachhöhe – Stangerhöhe – past the Grubalmkar on to the Krefelder Hütte alpine hut (refreshments) – up to the Salzburger Hütte alpine hut – with help from the cable car head back to the valley station of the Kitzsteinhorn Gletscherbahn.
